true collectible of historical significance for Beatle fans

Before forming The Beatles, John
Lennon had another band known as The Quarry Men and had invited
Paul McCartney to join them in 1957. This is a poster of the
first published photograph taken of John and Paul during a
performance of The Quarry Men on August 29, 1959. The picture
appeared in The West Derby Reporter in September, 1959. By the
way, the girl in the photo is Cynthia before John asked her to
go blonde.
Sixteen months later, on January
25, 1961, Sam Leach walked into Hambleton Hall, a miserable
little dance hall on the outskirts of Liverpool, to see a new
group called The Beatles who had just returned from Hamburg. Sam
was a well established promoter and club owner in Liverpool and
was looking for a new group to feature and promote.
That night, Sam Leach became a
part of Beatle history as he stepped backstage after the
Hambleton Hall show and offered The Beatles a chance to work at
his new club. Following this encounter, The Beatles performed
for Sam 49 times until Brian Epstein took over.
In 1963, Sam purchased the
negative for the original photograph from The West Derby
Reporter and now has made it possible for you to own your own
copy of this important piece of Lennon/McCartney history.
