Back in 1962, this picture

was taken at Sam’s Aldershot gig featuring an unheard of  Merseyside group called the Beatles.  The picture is of Sam,  George Harrison, John Lennon and Merseyside photographer friend Dick Matthews.  It was taken by Paul while balancing on a rickety chair.

John Lennon said “Sam Leach was the pulse of Merseybeat”

Paul McCartney called those days “The Sam Leach era”.
